Description

This is a trip designed for a more adventurous group that combines the beauty of northwest Ireland with local culture and challenging physical activities. Guests will also get a local perspective of the “troubles”, the conflict that tore Ireland apart for hundreds of years.

The north west of Ireland is a rugged and beautiful wilderness, a corner of Europe that somehow the rush of the modern world overlooked. Its rolling mountains, towering cliffs, swathes of white sandy beaches and tiny villages have been left to their own devices, today as romantically remote as they have been for generations. From the comfort of a world-renowned five star castle hotel, your guests will be introduced to the wild Irish landscape through a range of mentally and physically challenging activities that showcase the very best of the dramatic mountainous landscape and wild Atlantic ocean. The location and range of activities- from surfing to rock-climbing; mountaineering skills will allow clients to really get under the skin of Ireland while interacting with local people and the environment to uncover the rich human and natural history of this forgotten corner of Europe. The proximity to the ocean and the rich pastural landscape will make this trip a culinary exploration of everything this abundant land has to offer – from fresh fish and oysters to farmhouse cheese and craft beer. It won’t take long to work out why Donegal came in at number 1 on National Geographic Traveller’s ‘2017 Cool List’.
